One of my favorite Victorian musical compositions While listening, open a new tab and read the history of the piece on Wikipedia: [ http://bit.ly/EnigmaVariationsStory ]
"Nimrod," one of the best-known passages, is often played as a separate piece. On this recording, it begins at about 12:50. I also enjoy hearing Nimrod on the organ, as its grandeur seems particularly suited to this instrument: [ https://youtu.be/kz6xJAZ-UiU ] There are several versions on YouTube. I have not heard them all. (Yet) Choose your favorite. It is one of the great privileges of living in the 21st century that we can enjoy such a wide selection and thus experience the ambience of many venues. Here's Nimrod on another organ: [ https://youtu.be/2hcK7mRHsy8 ] Wow!
